Lenore, How is La Belle Vie in the east? Have you been traveling a lot? We are still trying to plan a trip in your direction. Not sure when. What looks good for you?

Great to hear how you are doing and thanks for pointing out that article on 1776. My lord she is so secure in who she is - which is amazing. I think it is a challenging time to do theatre, especially theatre that is choosing to be of the moment and focused on who we are now, but I am here for it….at least as an audience member.

Danelle, Thanks for following the newsletter. I was completely thunderstruck by the interview. It was a voice and attitude that I had not encountered previously in the company of a production. They are certainly sure of themselves ( I think they use they pronouns). I'm happy to see that you are employed again and in the arena that you enjoy. If you get to Paris, please let us know.

Pronouns are she/they per the article so, we are both right! There is definitely a bent of younger artists being more present with their thoughts and asks. I enjoyed reading an article that wasn’t like all the others. Sounds like there was some blowback from the team and a bit of back and forth over the weekend but that is part of the process. It is good to speak your mind - and sometimes there will be blowback. Speak, and accept consequences.

Yep, enjoying the new job - a change to film is very different but still fulfilling. -just over 2 years now. I wonder 100 years from now what the pandemic - and the shifts people made because of it - will look like to historians. If only we could be around to know.

Bonjour, Jim!

LOVED the Springsteen video and agreed - very moving. Rick (I don't know if you remember my ex-husband) and I got to know E Street well when we were young as Rick was writing a musical with Clarence Clemens back in the 80s. So, some nostalgia crept in as well. THANK YOU! It's funny, I have ZERO desire to travel anymore. Love my home, my job, my pets and my life in Cleveland. However, I am having such rich experiences every time I read one of your posts. Vicariousness (is that even a word?) is a lot of fun! LOVE to you, Jairo, family and any visitors I might know. Jacqi (btw, the unusual spelling of my name came from my first-grade French teacher. She said "Jackie" was too common for me so she would correct my "papiers" using "Jacqi". I just thought it looked pretty on the page and announced to my mom that henceforth .... and the rest is history! VOILA!

Thanks, Jacqi! I always liked the spelling of your name. Nice story. And I totally understand the not traveling mode. Being home is a great pleasure these days. I appreciate your comments. Keep them coming. Much love to you.
