I love this piece so much! 67 year old self meeting 20 year old self - clearly, honestly, and with love!

I was at the beach with my mother almost three decades ago (she would have been the age I am now, 67) - I watched as she went into the water and dove under. When she emerged, I saw her younger self surrounded by water and sunshine. When I told her later on the way home, she said "That is exactly how it felt!" Thank you for your story, Jim and for bringing back this memory of my mom!

This is wonderful, thank you for sharing. I had a Colorado hot springs experience recently that illuminated that communal nudity is spiritual in a way.

What beautiful imagery. I’m honored to have been part of one of your many skinny dipping experiences. ❤️

Beautiful memories, current and past. It did remind me of the first time I saw in my early teenage years the 1934 Tarzan film featuring, Tarzan and Jane swimming underwater in a romantic choreographed scene. Tarzan played by Johnny Weissmuller wearing his loincloth while Jane played by Maureen O’Sullivan is completely naked. As a young teenage person I was a bit confused, I didn't know who to like more Tarzan, Jane or the Gorilla!

Beautiful musings as always! My first experience was actually on tour in the mountains of CO, in a sauna/steam combo in Aspen. The freedom of that has always stayed with me. The experience of hot sauna to snow I didn't experience until grad school in WI, and again, there was something quite freeing about that. I think your reflection about High School swimming was very interesting and something I had never heard about. My guess is that is no longer the practice. I'm glad you were able to meet your younger self and celebrate that again!

Hello Jim. What a gift to read your voice this morning. Silence and stars drew me right in as Akron stands amidst such tumult and need for change. I wish we could all go for a swim, and feel the vulnerability, connectedness, and joy of being human together. Thank you for your sweetness at such a difficult time. The silence and stars was a moment of sanctuary. Congratulations on your beautiful journey.
