Ah, Jim, best wishes for a speedy recovery. My sister in Oregon had spinal surgery last year (much more invasive than what you have planned: seven titanium screws in her neck). Her recovery has been slow but steady. Here's looking forward to your pain-free life in the near future. Our plans to move to Portugal continue to move forward. I'll message you privately with an update soon. Looking forward to connecting with you and Jairo on the same continent in 2023!
Ken and I will be thinking about you all day tomorrow and of course as you recover. It does seem to be that time of life, for many of us, when health challenges can upend all of the things we have have taken for granted for so many years; walking easily, moving around at will, taking off to do an errand, standing all day to rehearse...and on and on. We are sending you good thoughts and healing thoughts from rainy LA.
